I thought that before you came to a class you might like to know what I'm trying to teach.
Good Acting, that's all.
And I consider good acting to be
The ability to communicate a story to an audience in an imaginative, exciting and wholly believable way.
That's it.
I know from my own early experience of acting in youth theatre and amateur shows that because of time constraints it is often difficult for non professional performers to study acting in a learning environment and widen their skills base.
My classes aim to offer you a taste of what a drama school training is like.
You will learn about all aspects of acting
How to support your voice and connect it with the text.
Become aware of your body and the stories it tells.
Play the moment and trust yourself not to ACT.
Since leaving Central and working professionally for 14 years I have developed theories of my own which we will work on together.
Performance and the precision of performance will be at the heart of what we do in class.
The fun will come from the quality of the work.
Feel free to call me or just drop in to a class, I look forward to meeting you and thanks for looking.
Dermot.
By the way the classes are drop in, you don't have to pay anything in advance or commit to a series of classes, so give me a call on 07500 459404 or just come along. Thanks again. D.
